My Pitch to Donny Deutch

Hi everyone! I’ve been watching the Big Idea with Donny Deutch on CNBC and getting up the nerve to pitch Story Time Felts as the next Million Dollar Idea. I finally did it tonight. Here’s my pitch, hope they like it:
-

Parents and teachers today are realizing there’s a backlash to all the technology that children are using - TV, video games, cell phones - and that is that children are losing the ability to imagine and entertain themselves through basic play.

I sell Story Time Felts through a direct selling company. I am in partnership with the company and we are on a mission to bring the product into more homes, but sometimes it feels like an uphill battle, as the reliance on toys with batteries is prevalent in the mass market.

We believe that the more a toy does, the less a child learns, and the less a toy does, the more a child learns. Every child who has ever played with our product LOVES it! It’s the parents we need to convince. Passive toys may seem fun and entertaining at first, but the novelty of electronic stimulation wears off and new toys need to be bought to replace them. With our felt toys having open-ended infinite possibilities, the child’s play is different every day, and the toy grows with the child.

Some of our innovative but classic toys are our Photo Felt Paper Doll - the parents sends in a photo of their adorable child and we make it into a “paper doll” made from felt: http://www.funfelt.com/photo-dolls.html

Another is our felt “quiet book” line - felt pages with pockets and flaps for the children to do activities or tell stories - great for travel! http://www.funfelt.com/activitybooks.html

We also offer felt boards for storytelling - we provide the felt figures and stories and even CDs in some cases, and the child supplies the imagination! http://www.funfelt.com/boards.html

As you can see we offer a variety of solutions for parents looking for toys that foster imagination and creativity. I think we have a million dollar idea - it is my life’s passion! I’ve been selling this online for 10 years, slow and steady. I’d love to get professional outside opinions about the viability of this product and our attaining our true potential.

Everything ever invented by man, every Big Idea ever created, was began because someone imagined it. What will happen if this generation loses its ability to imagine?

Thank you for your consideration!
Karen Clark

Good on you. Plus let’s face it many of us don’t know how to dream because our creativtiy was cut short. Kids need to have things that encourage them to use that imagination! Whoooo Party over here!
