I’ve been emotional all week. I can’t explain it. Other kids have turned 6, he isn’t the only one. I think the difference is that he is my last but more importantly that he has had a real turn this past year. From the day he was born he was much more of a challenge than the girls were. Sometimes I thought he was an alien, his temperament was so foreign to me and I wasn’t sure how to ‘fix’ him. He would get upset easily, have extreme mood swings, cry a lot of the time, and generally was not happy more than he was happy. This confused and confounded me! But over the last year he has really matured and come into his own as an individual and is happier, more easy going, smiles and laughs all the time, and reaches out to others. He is proving to be a leader among his little peers and although his teacher says he talks a lot, and laughs hysterically at the naughty kids, he is generally a good kid, very bright and social. He is a joy to parent and I am cherishing every new thing he learns, says, or does. Happy Birthday Terry J. Clark!
