Abundance

Hi everyone! I’ve been thinking a lot about the economy, my personal economy, and business… Focusing on paying down debt so I can welcome prosperity freely… I’ve been listening to some teleclass recordings from a trainer, Teresa Romain, through the DSWA audio archives as I walk every day, and so much of what she teaches applies to me and my attitude about money.  Then yesterday I got an email about her offering a 90 minute free teleclass for direct sellers, which you can access through her website, Access Abundance. I am looking forward to it and possibly taking on some more training/coaching from her - I need it.

Then today I read an article she posted to Direct Selling Leaders and it really hit home for me. In this time in our world it is so easy to get sucked into “not enough” thinking, and that just attracts more “not enough” - is that what we want? This article was a great reality check! Read it here.

I have so much to be grateful for, so much abundance in my life. I am going to focus on that today!

The Go-Giver

Wow I just finished a great book that was a free giveaway at the DSWA convention in Las Vegas. It is called The Go-Giver and is written by  Bob Burg and John David Mann.  It is written like a parable and is a quick read. You have got to get this book. I will highlight the 5 principles here, but you really need to read this little book to fully understand. Try applying these to your life and see what happens. :)

The Five Laws of Stratospheric Success

The Law of Value

Your true worth is determined by how much more you give in value than you take in payment.

The Law of Compensation

Your income is determined by how many people you serve and how well you serve them.

The Law of Influence

Your influence is determined by how abundantly you place other people’s interests first.

The Law of Authenticity

The most valuable gift you have to offer is yourself.

The Law of Receptivity

The key to effective giving is to stay open to receiving.

Wow! Great concepts, easy reading, with relevant examples of how to experience each law and apply it in your life. Love it!

How-To’s Aren’t Enough

The keynote speaker at the DSWA Education Celebration Leadership Training was Brian Klemmer from Klemmer and Associates. He has a book called “If How To’s Were Enough,Brian Klemmer's Book We Would All Be Skinny, Rich and Happy.” Does that not just say it all? His training struck a chord with me. Knowing how to be successful, knowing how to make phone calls and book parties, knowing how to lose weight or how to have a happy marriage, it isn’t enough. Learning how to is the easy part! But sometimes we are more committed to staying the same, or being comfortable, than we are to accomplishing our goals. It’s easier and more comfortable to not work on our goals in earnest. We may say we WANT this or that, but the truth is often we want something else even more, and that something else can be holding us back. We know this based on our results. DSWA Education Celebration Preview

Hello everyone! I have been given the opportunity to speak briefly at the DSWA Education Celebration in April. This is so exciting. I never really considered myself an “expert” in internet marketing but in the direct sales profession, it hasn’t really caught on. I am excited to get to share with everyone in a more public way about what I do that has worked. On Tuesday this week, we had a “preview call” where direct sellers from around the country called in to listen to some of the speakers give them a little bit about what will be shared at the convention. To download and listen to the call, click here:
http://download.mydswa.org/tele_classes/tc0129200806.mp3 You will also get to hear 2 other speakers before me, Lisa Wilbur who speaks about marketing, and Mary McHenry who speaks about life balance while you build your team. Enjoy!

Happy New Year

A wonderful business coach for the ELITE Leadership Certification Course at the DSWA shared this fantastic set of questions to ponder. Sharon Pira has been an inspiration to me and many of my peers. Thanks for passing this along, Sharon! Please leave a comment and let us know what these questions stirred in you! Do you have any questions to add? Let’s make it a great 2008!

Time Management for Moms

Hello everyone! Last week I had the pleasure of being on an “expert” panel of direct sellers for the Direct Selling Women’s Alliance tele-class for Party with your Kids Week! It was a lot of fun and I got to share some things that have worked for me in balancing my home-based business with my family’s needs. Here are 2 of the questions I was given to answer, and the answers I had planned to give. :) Enjoy!
