The Go-Giver

Wow I just finished a great book that was a free giveaway at the DSWA convention in Las Vegas. It is called The Go-Giver and is written by  Bob Burg and John David Mann.  It is written like a parable and is a quick read. You have got to get this book. I will highlight the 5 principles here, but you really need to read this little book to fully understand. Try applying these to your life and see what happens. :)

The Five Laws of Stratospheric Success

The Law of Value

Your true worth is determined by how much more you give in value than you take in payment.

The Law of Compensation

Your income is determined by how many people you serve and how well you serve them.

The Law of Influence

Your influence is determined by how abundantly you place other people’s interests first.

The Law of Authenticity

The most valuable gift you have to offer is yourself.

The Law of Receptivity

The key to effective giving is to stay open to receiving.

Wow! Great concepts, easy reading, with relevant examples of how to experience each law and apply it in your life. Love it!

To Really Live, You’ve Got to Give

I heard this phrase on a Mastery of Money CD from Klemmer and Associates, where Brian Klemmer was interviewing Alan Nagao, a successful millionaire. It’s so easy to get caught up in our daily lives and forget to contribute to those less fortunate, but I do whenever I can. I hope you do, too. I thought I’d share some of the causes that are near and dear to me right now, maybe you can help? Continue reading ‘To Really Live, You’ve Got to Give’

Military Wives Need a Home-Based Business

Hi everyone! There was a caller today on the Dr. Laura radio program that reminded me of myself years ago! As many of you know, I was “married” to the military for 15 years.  The caller was about to marry a serviceman but didn’t know how she would survive all the separations and deployments. They didn’t have any children yet and that made it even harder to connect with the other wives who had families. I can relate, and wish someone had given me the following advice far earlier in my “career” of being a Navy Wife. This is a letter I just emailed to Dr. Laura. Things I Learned While I Had the Flu

  1. My husband Greg is reliable and diligent during a crisis.
  2. The world will not stop turning if I stay in bed half the day. Or more.
  3. My 4 year old is a great napper when he has company.
  4. Things marked “urgent” really aren’t so much. Continue reading ‘Things I Learned While I Had the Flu’

Welcome to Holland

Hi everyone! One of our Story Time Felts consultants, Susie from New York, sent this to our consultant discussion group and although I had read it before, it had been years. It was great to read it again and notice how it doesn’t only apply to changing your perspective with regard to the dreams you may have for your kids, but to anything where you need to have an “attitude adjustment” when life just doesn’t go your way. Read this and you’ll see what I mean:

Childhood Cancer

Hi everyone… We are all getting ready for Christmas and life is grand so I apologize in advance if this is a downer but to me it isn’t. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about my blessings and naturally among them are my 3 kids. Three children who were born without serious complications and (knock wood) perfectly healthy. They rarely get sick and have never had more than a cold or flu. I’ve learned over the years that just being born is a true miracle in itself, but being born healthy is even moreso. Chocolate Candy Making Ideas

My little cousin Nicki Is this little girl adorable or what? She just got done helping her Mommy pack all those boxes full of candy making supplies and ingredients! Her mommy is my cousin Cheryl who owns An Occasional Chocolate (love that name!) where she teaches people like you and me how to make simple but delicious and oh so pretty candies and treats for gifts or entertaining!

You can just go to her website and look at the recipes and step by step instructions for dipping, molding, melting, drizzling and rolling to your heart’s content and end up with something that looks like it came from a high end gourmet chocolate shop! The recipes are free, but she also sells the best ingredients that lend themselves to the best looking and tasting results. As you can see by the picture, she ships most items Priority Mail right from her home warehouse so if you check it out today you will get your order in time for pre-Christmas candy making! Appreciation

The last week has been an incredible time of my life that I will never forget.

Due to my expressing my appreciation for a positive ripple that she started, national radio talk show host, Dr. Laura Schlessinger, endorsed me and Story Time Felts live on her show. I have done more business in the last week than I usually do in a month, thanks to her! Someone pinch me! Continue reading ‘Appreciation’
