At the Personal Mastery seminar we were asked to set 90 day goals, pick an accountability partner, and attach a risky consequence to not achieving the goal. We were encouraged to enroll others in our goal by telling them about it and asking for their support as needed. I decided to set 2 goals, one financial and one personal.
My 90 Day Goals
1. To earn enough additional income to pay off my business credit card once and for all, and to practice skills that will keep me long term debt-free in my business.
2. To lose 30 pounds by walking 1 or 2x a day and using the Nikken Kenzen program.
I will accomplish these by the 28th of October, otherwise I will have to spend 10 hours a week for a month doing yard work, which I can only stand for about 10 minutes!
We were originally supposed to start this on the 20th when the seminar ended, making it end on October 18th. But let’s just say I didn’t start in earnest last week. I chose instead to wallow in Victim mode and be in an emotional funk, processing everything I discovered. But today is a new day and wonderful opportunities are presenting themselves:
- One of the local mommy boards I visit is starting a Biggest Loser challenge on Monday. Not only are they competing for most weight lost (over a 6 week period) but you have to send in a before photo by tomorrow AND a photo of the scale showing your weight and 2 feet on the scale every Monday. LOL No cheating there! Everyone pitches in a small amount of $ and the biggest loser wins the pot. I am signed up and going into it with my whole self in.
- I have 3 product reviews on pretty popular websites coming out in the next week, 1 came out today, at Scribbit’s blog. I am hopeful that additional traffic will result in more sales from the 3 sources as they are posted. Lots of new people will be finding out about me!
- I’ve created a nice little partnership with a lady who makes preschool story time videos on youtube. We are going to barter – I send her free product, she uses it in a video. I then post the videos on my site, and she will post where to buy the product on hers! It’s a win-win and she expects 1000+ viewers each week. It will run for 3 months, 1 new video each week – perfect! I have to go over our contract but when it is official I will be posting about it I am sure.
- The girls will be home again on Tuesday night, which means more ease in getting out for my walks. I can go out early mornings and late nights and let the oldest babysit vs. waking my 4 year old up and hauling him in the stroller while it is still cool in the early hours, or again later in the evenings. I won’t have him as an excuse any more and look forward to the 2x a day walks, catching up on all my CDs and teleclass recordings.
- We are moving into the festival/holiday season and I have several events lined up where I will meet even more new people.
- I’ve been given some more outstanding new start and coaching advice from 2 other direct selling leaders, giving me some more structure and guidelines that I believe will improve my team’s activity level/results.
- We are finally remodeling the office and although it is not done, I now sit facing the window and can see outward, to infinity! I am reminded constantly of the life and energy out in the world, and the peaceful constant of Mother Nature. The sky is the limit in front of me!
So what do I need from you? A word of encouragement, sure, but more just knowing you’re there and expecting me to succeed.
If I turn down an expense, please understand I am in ‘frugal mode’ with my business income and I’ll be saying no more often. If we spend some time together, be OK with my obsession about the meal I choose, or making sure I get home in time to walk. I’ll probably talk about this a lot, and that will help me keep a single-minded focus. Be patient.
I cannot wait to share the financially free, and fabulously fit, new me by October 25. I will celebrate my achievements at the DSWA Leadership Retreat in San Antonio that day! Perfect timing.

For those who want to follow the nitty gritty details of my weight loss journey, I’ve started a new blog:

I’ll be posting pictures and everything! Ugh!
Karen,
Good luck with your 90 day goal and weight loss. I just got back from Taste of Home Entertaining’s convention, and we also had to plan our 90 day goals and make action steps to get there. Marcia Weider who is a Dream Coach spoke to us. She said you need a dream and trust yourself to keep your word – and great things will happen – Good Luck!
Thanks Danielle! We just had Marcia at my DSWA chapter meeting, she is amazing! I’ll be attending her weekend seminar here in a couple weeks and am looking forward to working on my goals some more there – bigger dreams! Thanks for the comment!
