Time Management for Moms

Hello everyone! Last week I had the pleasure of being on an “expert” panel of direct sellers for the Direct Selling Women’s Alliance tele-class for Party with your Kids Week! It was a lot of fun and I got to share some things that have worked for me in balancing my home-based business with my family’s needs. Here are 2 of the questions I was given to answer, and the answers I had planned to give. :) Enjoy!

Jalapeno Designs - Expo Banner

Hello everyone! Once in a while I am going to review products or businesses that I love - completely unsolicited and uncompensated - just for the pure joy of sharing something I adore! My first review is of Stacee at Jalapeno Designs, who made this beautiful expo banner for me.

Story Time Felts Banner
Alia and Terry are showing it off for me!

I Live in My Car

I live in my car. It is my home away from home. Unfortunately it is not a vacation home! It is more like an office away from the office, as I am typing this entry from the comforts of my 99 Voyager minivan. See, my kids go to school in a town about a 30 minutes drive away, and there are some layovers between the 2 kids school pickup times. Fallon, who is in 7th grade, goes to “Advanced Band” before school at 7:45. Alia’s school starts at 8:30… Continue reading ‘I Live in My Car’

Our Buddy Riktor

Today my 3 year old Terry and I had the pleasure of visiting is playgroup buddy, Riktor and his Mom Melissa, along with some other playgroup buddies. We don’t get to see Riktor much any more since he is staying in Berkeley to stay close-by to the hospital where he is receiving radiation.

Riktor and my son TJ today...See, sweet little Riktor has cancer. He had some tumors on his brain and some along his spine :( and although chemo got a lot of it, there’s a tiny bit left that they need to zap with radiation. His whole ordeal started just after Christmas last year. It mobilized our whole mother’s club and community into action to raise awareness and funds for Riktor and his family, who had just welcomed a new baby boy into the world. Like it? Love it? Or gotta have it?

Well how do you like my new blog, especially the gorgeous Word Press theme by MommyZabs from Girly Blog Designz? I am so happy with it! It fits me to a “T” and MommyZabs has been so generous with her time and patience setting this up. I basically had no idea what I was doing and she came to my rescue, over and above my expectations! Feltaholic’s Dream!

Wow this is a busy business week! I am having so much fun! On Thursday, my friend from Little Earthquakes Photography came over and we had a Story Time Felts “felt photo shoot!” Lindsay had her two little girls and I had TJ home with me, and we invited my new local Consultant, Christina and her son, and Liz, one of the co-owners of Sitters Place and her 2 sons, and Tina, the owner of The Parent Pack and her son and daughter. It was like a work at home support group! LOL! Continue reading ‘Feltaholic’s Dream!’

Karma and stuff…

I had a post here yesterday about something pretty negative and today I decided to delete it. I truly believe that what goes around comes around and in my life this has been true time and time again. For some reason I had a lapse in judgment and let someone from my past get to me yesterday and knock me off track. Luckily a guardian angel spoke to me today (about something unrelated!) and reminded me of who I am by just being who they are. Continue reading ‘Karma and stuff…’

Web Design

Wow, I am impressed! Yesterday my husband read an article in the local newspaper about a local online business woman and her web design business and emailed me to ask if it was who he thought it was! Sure enough, it was Miriam Ellis, my sister-in-law’s sister! She has created a beautiful Mexican dress pattern for sale and turned it into a brilliant little side business for herself, selling downloads of the pattern for $5. What an ingenious idea! Speaking with Confidence

Last night was our local DSWA Chapter Meeting and we had the pleasure of hearing Nancy Tierney from Unconditional Confidence who spoke to us about public speaking. She was a fantastic speaker - lively, funny, confident… She shared with us some “secrets” to speaking with confidence including that you “can’t care a rip what anyone thinks of you!” Continue reading ‘Speaking with Confidence’
